My Bio
I am a writer, performer and Ensemble Member of the Factory Theater in Chicago. During the past three years, I have produced two short plays ("Therapy, Schmerapy" and "Hard Boiled Popeye") as well as two full-length plays. My first play "The Gray Girl" was the #1 Critics' Pick in Time Out Chicago in November, 2011. My second play, "Street Justice: Condition Red" appeared on the Factory Theater stage in November, 2013, garnering another Critics' Pick from TimeOut Chicago as well as other positive press.

My essay on Joseph Dalton Hooker was published in "The Who, The What and The When: 65 Artists Illustrate The Sidekicks of History" in October, 2014. My task was to research and write an essay to be published in the book. I chose to write about Joseph Dalton Hooker, who was Charles Darwin's best friend. The essay details his life and influence that helped secure his best friend's rightful place in history. More about this and my other work on my Behance profile: www.behance.net/ColinMilroy.

I participate in writing contests with local theaters, submit stories online through websites like Inkitt and try to find as many places to write as I can. I am currently working on more fiction, including horror radio plays, more ghost stories, undead erotic comedies in the zany worlds of the supernatural and other action-oriented fiction.

Pleased to report that run of my second play last fall was successful and well-reviewed. I was blessed with an immensely talented cast & crew as well as a supportive and nurturing theater company. The show was a TimeOut Chicago Critics' Pick and was also recommended by the Chicago Reader and Chicago Theater Beat. This was a joy I'll remember. I still miss it. Here's a review sampling. The rehearsal draft for a play I co-wrote is finished and rehearsal has begun! Very excited to watch this action-packed comedy entertainment come to life through rehearsals and ultimately on stage. It will open at the Factory Theater in Chicago on November 8. There will be a video trailer, marketing shots and much more. Hope to post more soon. If you're in the area, you can find out more about this show (and purchase tickets!) through www.thefactorytheater.com. Cheers!

House repairs are mostly done except for a few small things. Huge relief after such a long time (the big rains & floods were almost two months ago). Glad to have that done alongside a couple experiments with an exciting new writing tool. Looking forward to more experiments as well as completing edits for the new play, which will start rehearsals in about seven weeks! I hope that things will get a little more stable after so much disorder.
